Expos and more
How things went at the 2023 Washington State Spring Fair
Our booth at the Washington State Fair in April was a great success! American Juliette was very curious about the people who stopped by her stall and was constantly sticking her head through the panels to say hello. She was a great representative for the Caspian breed at the Breed Expo.
Hundreds of people stopped by, and we were cleaned out of brochures and fliers by the end of the week. The fair staff enjoyed having us so much that we have been invited (and we accepted) to attend again at the highly attended Summer Fair in September! We plan to offer more information at the booth with a bigger setup, and maybe we’ll find some new people who would like to join us in our Caspian conservation and breeding efforts.
Taliyeh Award nominations are coming soon
The very first Taliyeh Award is now headed on its way to Sassafras Caspians—congratulations Anne Lawrence and Sassafras Marie! And after our learning experience in 2022 with developing and producing the award, we plan to fine-tune the process for submitting and judging entries going forward. We want to make the award as inclusive as possible, so some updates to eligibility may come about after a more thorough review. More to come, so please stay tuned for when we open up 2023 nominations later this year!
What about webinars?
We have one webinar planned so far this year, but due to time constraints and members’ availability in different time zones, we are looking into options that would offer webinars on-demand. We hope this would be more convenient for members. Please send us your suggestions on anything you would like to learn so we can build more informative webinars that are catered to your needs.
